Plan B is a brand name for medicine that works as emergency contraception. Plan B is
also called “the morning after pill“, and is a medication that can be taken after a person
has unprotected sex so that they can try to prevent an unplanned pregnancy. Plan B
emergency contraception works best if taken within 72 hours (three days) after a person
had sexual intercourse. The sooner it can be taken, the better it will work against
pregnancy. If a person is already pregnant, The medicine will not terminate (end) the pregnancy.

Take action, My Way, Ella, Option 2, Preventeza, AfterPill, and My Choice are other
brands of over-the-counter emergency contraceptives that you might find.
