Meth or Methamphetamine is a highly addictive drug. It can be smoked, snorted or injected in the form of crystalline hydrochloride. When smoked it causes your brain to release a huge “rush”” of dopamine. This will cause a briefly euphoric sensation along with increased energy.
Many people become addicted to meth the first time they use it. It also only takes one use to cause permanent damage by triggering hyperthermia (an elevated body temperature) and convulsions, both of which can kill.
If you do survive your first time, you will likely become addicted to the drug. The damage of long term use is both physical and psychological. Physically it’s not unusual for methamphetamine addicts to stop eating and quickly become emaciated and thin. If the drug is smoked it can damage user’s teeth causing them to decay at an accelerated rate. Mentally the brain will begin to decay as well, often triggering auditory hallucinations, paranoia and psychotic behavior.
