Your brain controls all of your perceptions—the way you see, hear, smell, taste, and feel. Chemical messengers transmit information from your brain to the rest of your body. These messages are constantly being sent back and forth with amazing speed.

Hallucinogens disrupt the communications noted above. This results in a distortion of all 5 senses, changing the way you sense the world around you. When you take hallucinogens you see, hear, smell, taste and feel differently. These distortions in perception can be so radical as to make the user confused about what is actually real and what are hallucinations (i.e. They may see and hear things that aren’t even there). Users will feel themselves lose control of their thoughts and the way that they speak to others. In addition, their personality may change as well. They may suddenly become very violent or extremely emotional. People can become very unreasonable and erratic and many end up in dangerous situations. It is very dangerous to get behind the wheel of a car or operate machinery if a user is under the influence.

    Some types of hallucinogens include:
-LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide): The most common hallucinogen.
    -“Magic Mushrooms”
    -Mescaline
-PCP (Phencyclidine) Also called ‘Angel Dust’
