Depending on what you are doing with your life and how your body chemistry is set up, that is upon debate.

The FDA and our parents, as we are kids growing up, have always recommended eating 3 meals a day.

However, if you are an adult attempting to lose weight, there are now studies that suggest that eating more meals throughout the day, though smaller portions, is better than eating three full meals per day. The multiple, smaller meals help speed up the bodies digestive system and kick-starts metabolism.

Growing children should eat three balanced meals plus two healthy snacks per day depending on the level of activity and the amount of energy that the children are putting out.

Many people see three meals as piling on as much food onto a plate as possible – this is not a good way to diet. Correctly portion meats, veggies, and starches and you will not have a problem with your diet.
