    No. All tobacco products that are sold in retail stores contain many different chemicals (including nicotine) that are designed to aleviate stress in the brain. People chew tobacco or smoke cigarettes because the chemicals in these products assist in the control of anxiety and stress and support their need for a “nicotine fix.”

    While smoking promotes lung cancer, chewing tobacco can cause lip, gum, tongue, and/or throat cancer, as well as ulcers in the mouth that can get infected. So, while the complications may be different, all in all, chewing tobacco is no better than smoking cigarettes.
