   Yes, there are condoms available for female use. Female condoms are made of polyurethane, which is a a rubber like substance that you is not latex. You put it in your vagina before sex. A female condom looks like a loose pouch with a ring on both ends of the pouch. The condom is inserted into the vagina much like you would insert a tampon. One ring keeps the condom inside. Another one covers the outside of the vagina. After sex, before standing up, you twist the outside ring, remove the condom gently, and throw the condom away. Use a new one each time you have sex.

   The condom prevents pregnancy by keeping sexual fluids from entering the vagina. After use, you simply remove the condom and throw it away. Female condoms are effective at preventing pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. These condoms are available for purchase at drugstores and grocery stores. You do not need a doctor’s prescription to purchase them.
