GirlSmarts.org is a site by girls for girls to encourage smart decision making through life’s most critical moments – from sex and drinking, to love and success. We encourage you to go through the scenarios and consider what you would do in each situation.
We hope that any parent that navigates this site will encourage their teen to view these scenarios and use the information seen here to discuss these situations with their teens before your teen has to experience them. Evidence shows that doing so will allow your child the tools to make better decisions if they do experience this this scenario later in life.
As an educator you are in a position to show your students these scenarios and then use the information as template for further discussion on this and other topics. While there is no best way to use this website, we suggest that you have your students (and parents if you wish) discuss a few cases at a time. Then after the assignment is done use the case as a forum to allow teens to express their feelings. Use this discussion to solidify safe practices in your teen student’s minds.
